Community, Needs & Volunteer Management

Community Coordination, Needs and Volunteer Management

In a disaster help is not scarce; matching is. Volunteers go where they are not needed, donations pile up in the wrong place. Once needs and resources enter the same record, that corrects itself.

How it works

Four layers. Two for who needs what, two for who can give what.

  1. Request

The need is stated by the person who has it.

The new need request form opens a record in the words of the person who needs help; needs management keeps those requests in one list. A need is not guessed: a guessed need is aid sent to the wrong place.

  2. Resource

Help is a record, not a crowd.

The volunteer registration module makes who can do what known in advance; donation management ties incoming resources to the same structure. That is the difference between goodwill at the gate and a volunteer who can be assigned.

  3. Match

Request and resource meet in the same record.

Relief request and volunteer flows show which need sits with whom; relief vehicles and field support coordination put the resource on the road. An unmatched request stays on the list too; an invisible need goes unmet.

  4. Follow-through

Aid does not end where it is delivered.

Disaster victim management and shelter management keep the person and the place the aid reached on record. The community module and messages talk around that same record: who is staying where, and what they still need.

Not a crowd, a record.

Volunteer applications happen in the app: region, contact details and skills go into the record; the coordination side assigns volunteers from that record. Captured from the demo environment.

Volunteer application form screen: full name, city, district and phone fields with skill tags from first aid to interpreting.

What changes

  • Help is not scarce; matching is.

  • A need is not guessed; its owner states it.

  • Help is a record, not a crowd.

  • An unmatched request stays on the list too.

  • Where the aid went stays on record.

Let's talk about your organisation's resilience.
